Wichita, KS (March 8th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced several transactions today. Forward Gabriel Gagne has been recalled to the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators. Wichita also acquired defenseman Randy Cure and future considerations from the Allen Americans. The team also released emergency backup netminder Chris Kovalcik.Gagne, 20, was reassigned to Wichita from Binghamton on March 3rd. He scored a power play goal and the game-winner in the shootout against Tulsa on March 4th. The rookie forward from Laval, Quebec is a former second round draft pick of the Ottawa Senators (#36 overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Cure, 26, began the season with the Indy Fuel before heading to Allen. A native of Bloomington, Minnesota, the 6-foot-3, 191-pound blueliner played in 24 games for the Americans notching five points (1g, 4a) and is a +13. Prior to turning pro, Cure played four years at Mercyhurst College. In 113 career games, he recorded 11 points (1g, 10a) and claimed a regular season championship in 2013-14. The Thunder have the weekend off and will return to action on Tuesday, March 14th with a visit to Missouri.Individual tickets for all Thunder home games are now on sale.
