Wichita, KS (Dec. 7th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced several transactions this afternoon. Forward Alexis Loiseau (LWAH-zoh) has been loaned to the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators. The team has also signed defenseman Jamie Doornbosch to the active roster and announced that defenseman Nick Trecapelli has been placed on reserve.
Loiseau, 22, earns his first call-up of the season and second of his career. He appeared in 12 games last year with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, tallying three points (1g, 2a). The second-year forward from Havre-aux-Maisons, Quebec is second in the league in goals (14), 10th in points (23) and equaled his career-high in goals when he tallied 14 last year with the Norfolk Admirals.
Doornbosch, 26, turns pro after spending the last five seasons with Saint Mary's University (CIS). A native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound blueliner collected 84 points (17g, 67a) in 133 career games with the Huskies. He was selected to the Second All-Star Team during the 2013-14 season, registering 21 points (8g, 13a) in 28 games.
Prior to heading to college, Doornbosch played in 264 career Ontario Hockey League games with the Kitchener Rangers and Peterborough Petes. He recorded 147 points (41g, 106a) in 264 contests. He was signed to an amateur tryout agreement with the National Hockey League's New York Islanders in 2011 and appeared in one game.
The Thunder returns home to start a three-in-three beginning on Friday against the Allen Americans at 7:05 p.m. Friday is Teddy Bear Toss Night, presented by Bank of the West and Hajoca. Bring a new or gently used teddy bear and when the Thunder score their first goal, fans can toss them on the ice.
