Thunder Announces Partnership with Tech Firm Spinzo

Wichita, KS (Oct. 4th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced today the team has reached an agreement with the Spinzo Corporation for the use of its online buying platform for both private and public group ticket sales. The Spinzo platform combines pricing discounts and social media to stimulate ticket sales. "The concept is amazing," said Vice President of Ticket Sales & Community Relations, Michael McCoy. "Groups of Thunder fans, such as schools, corporate parties or community groups are encouraged to buy their group-discounted tickets through a Thunder-branded online site powered by Spinzo. Fans have the control to determine the final price based on participation. This encourages fans to share the message about the offer with friends, family and coworkers. We are very excited to be bringing this technology and concept to the people of Wichita."

Spinzo offers a ticket-buying model that is appealing to both the Thunder and its fans alike. The Thunder staff have complete ability to track promotions in real-time and engage with participants. Fans can also track live pricing and invite friends to gain more savings.

Emmanuel Elmajian, CEO of five-year-old Spinzo, said his company's goal of connecting merchants and consumers through social media works especially well for sports teams. "An unsold seat is lost revenue that can never be recovered. Our goal has always been to help organizations use the power of social media to become more profitable."

A countdown clock indicates the time remaining in each promotion which stimulates urgency, and a real-time price meter indicates the current ticket price. Additionally, Spinzo allows teams the ability showcase experiences for groups, restrict offers by email address and ask custom questions to buyers. Combining these features, the Spinzo platform is designed to actively engage ticket buyers and drive sales.

The contract between the Thunder and Spinzo is effective immediately, and the Thunder will deploy the platform for selected groups starting this week.

The Thunder kicks off their 25th Anniversary season on Saturday, October 15th against the Tulsa Oilers. Season tickets are on sale now. Place a $25 deposit for up to four seats and pay it off in 14 payments. Contact a Thunder representative at the office today.
