Thunder Announces 2017-18 Promotional Schedule

Wichita, KS (Sept. 13th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today the promotional schedule for the 2017-18 season.

The season kicks off with back-to-back games on October 13th and 14th against the Indy Fuel. Opening Night, presented by UBUILDIT, will feature a clear bag giveaway for the first 500 fans through the door, presented by Clear Platinum. On Saturday, join us for the annual Toyota Block Party, which will feature live music, dueling pianos from Ernie Biggs Piano Bar and more.

Brand new this year will be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Night, featuring an appearance by the characters themselves, on Saturday, November 18th. Come get your picture taken with Michealango, Donatello, Leonardo and Raphael, presented by A&W Root Beer. Bring your scout troop out as well and earn your hockey scout badge. November 18th is also Great American Smokeout, presented by Tobacco Free Wichita.

Also brand new: -Marvel Night featuring Thor on Saturday, November 25th -Pirates and Princesses Night on December 29th presented by Arby's-Cancer Awareness Night on January 12th-#ILOVEWICHITA Night on January 20th presented by Bonavia Industries and Qdoba-Nico Hernandez Bobblehead Giveaway on March 2nd, presented by R.A. Ruud and Son -Ron Baker Bobblehead Giveaway helping benefit Via Christi Children's Miracle Network on March 30th, presented by Get a Move On.

Tickets are on sale now for our exhibition game against the Tulsa Oilers. Join us on Saturday, October 7th for a double header as the Junior Thunder takes on the Cheyenne Stampede at 4 p.m. followed by the Thunder and Oilers. The Thunder are hosting a telethon on Friday, September 15th to help benefit hurricane relief efforts. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thunder staff members will be at the DoubleTree HIlton Hotel Airport calling local businesses for Opening Weekend tickets. A portion of every ticket sold will be donated to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Irma.
