Single Game Tickets on Sale Now for Home Opener

Wichita, KS (Sept. 15th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced on Tuesday the promotional schedule for the upcoming 2015-16 season. Tickets for the team's home opener against Quad City on October 17th at 7:05 p.m. go on sale today as well, the team announced. The home portion of the schedule kicks off on Saturday, October 17th against the Quad City Mallards starting at 7:05 p.m. Starting at 4 p.m., the Thunder have partnered with Toyota to present this year's annual Block Party, which will feature live entertainment, the Bug Lady, face painting, ice cream, courtesy of Hiland Dairy, mini golf, street hockey, Paint the Town, K-9 Unit from the Wichita Police Department and more. The Thunder have also partnered with Waste Connections on Opening Night for a special selfie stick giveaway. The first 1,000 fans in the door will receive a special voucher that can be redeemed at a table on the lower concourse level as they leave the arena. Making a comeback this season will be Pink at the Rink (Oct. 30th), presented by RA Ruud and Son and Machinists Union Local Lodge 839 benefitting Susan G. Komen Kansas affiliate. The team will wear special uniforms with the net proceeds helping to find a cure for breast cancer. New to the promotional schedule this season include the team's first-ever Zamboni bank giveaway, presented by BNC National Bank (Nov. 14th), Movember Night presented by Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers and Get A Move On (Nov. 20th), $1 Beer and Country Night (Nov. 25th), Star Wars Night benefitting WYHA (Dec. 20th), Beer Fest and Jersey Cooler Giveaway Night presented by RA Ruud and Son (Jan. 8th), Thunderdog Coin Bank Giveaway presented by Rose Hill Bank (Feb. 12th), Reality TV Night (Feb. 13th), Hockey for A.L.L. (Feb. 16th), and Batman/Superman Night presented by Kansas Honor Flight (April 8th). On Saturday, October 31st, the Thunder will host their Halloween Trick-or-Treat Extravaganza against the Colorado Eagles at 1:05 p.m. The team will wear special Halloween-themed uniforms and fans will have a chance to win prizes for the best costume.
