Wichita, KS (Feb. 26th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today the signing of forward Ryan Van Stralen.

Van Stralen, 24, recently attended Carleton University (USport) for the last four years. A native of Prescott, Ontario, the 6-foot-3, 207-pound forward played in 97 career games for the Ravens, recording 93 points (48g, 45a) and 226 penalty minutes. He was a teammate of current Thunder defenseman, Etienne Boutet, on Team Canada last February at the International University Sports Federation Tournament and helped them collect a bronze medal.

Prior to attending Canadian university, Van Stralen played three seasons for the Ontario Hockey League's Ottawa 67's. He served as an assistant captain during his final season in 2013-14 and racked up 58 points (29g, 29a) in 61 games and added 70 penalty minutes.

The Thunder returns tomorrow night to host the Fort Wayne Komets at 7:05 p.m.
