Thunder Adds Scoring Punch in Forward Loiseau

Wichita, KS (July 21st) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced this afternoon the team has come to terms with forward Alexis Loiseau (LOU-ah-zoh) for the 2016-17 season.

"Alexis is a young, dynamic offensive talent that has great vision and poise with the puck," said Head Coach Malcolm Cameron. "He's the type of person we've targeted in the off-season; a player that is motivated to win and move up. We look forward to seeing Alexis in a Thunder jersey this season."

Loiseau, 22, played his rookie season for the Norfolk Admirals after signing with the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League (AHL). A native of Havre-Aux-Maisons, Quebec, the 6-foot-1, 179-pound center finished with 40 points (14g, 26a) in 54 games with Norfolk. He also appeared in 12 games for the Condors, recording three points (1g, 2a).

"I am pretty pumped to get going in Wichita," said Loiseau. "I had some good talks with Malcolm and we share the same vision. I want to get there, work on my game and help the team win. I can't wait to get the season started."

The second-year forward played four full seasons of junior hockey for Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL. He was named team captain prior to the 2014-15 campaign and finished fifth in the league in scoring with 96 points (35g, 61a) in 68 games. He led Rimouski in the playoffs to a Memorial Cup berth with 26 points (9g, 17a) and finished third in the QMJHL in playoff scoring. At the Memorial Cup, he paced the team with five points (2g, 3a) in five games and was named the tournament's George Parsons Trophy winner as the Most Sportsmanlike Player.
