Thunder Acquires Martin From Reading

Wichita, KS (Jan. 2nd) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today that the team has acquired forward Colin Martin from the Reading Royals for future considerations.

Martin, 26, is in his second season as a pro. The London, Ontario native registered 22 goals as a rookie last year with the Utah Grizzlies and finished with 33 points in 47 games.

Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-1, 203-pound forward played his junior hockey for the Ontario Hockey League's London Knights. In 188 games, he recorded 84 points (36g, 48a) and 193 penalty minutes and helped the Knights to an OHL Championship during the 2011-12 season. After his junior career, he attended St. Thomas University in Canada (USport), tallying 23 goals, 57 points and 246 penalty minutes in 99 games.

The Thunder begins 2018 next Friday night against the Quad City Mallards starting at 7:05 p.m.
