Wichita, KS (Nov. 14th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced this afternoon that the team has dealt forward Triston Grant to the Rapid City Rush for forward Nathan Moon.
Moon, 26, is a former fourth round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins (#120 overall) during the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. The Belleville, Ontario native has appeared in 12 games for the Rush this season, netting eight points (2g, 6a). He began his professional career in 2011-12 with the American Hockey League's Worcester Sharks, recording 32 points (12g, 20a) in 72 games. Moon has 227 games of ECHL experience, playing with Cincinnati, Evansville, and Colorado. During that span he has collected 184 points (58g, 126a) to go along with 370 penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-11, 194-pound forward played for the Ontario Hockey League's Kingston Frontenacs, piling up 332 points (139g, 193a) in 316 games over five seasons. He joined the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs for their playoff run in 2010-11 and helped them claim the Central Hockey League title.
The Thunder have the week off and will host the Alaska Aces for three-straight starting on Friday, November 18th at 7:05 p.m.
