Third Period Dooms Thunder In Loss to Tulsa

Tulsa, OK (Nov. 24th) - Dylan Bredo scored with 4:27 to go in the game and Wichita couldn't find the equalizer in a 5-3 loss to Tulsa on Saturday night at the BOK Center.

Mark MacMillan, PC Labrie and Dyson Stevenson each scored in the losing effort. Steven Iacobellis added an assist to extend his point-streak to 11 games.

Labrie got the scoring started at 1:43 of the opening frame. He tipped home a shot from Travis Brown on the power play to make it 1-0. Tulsa answered 26 seconds later as Adam Pleskach buried a wrist shot past Stuart Skinner's glove and tied it at one. At 14:08, MacMillan found a rebound off a shot from Jakob Stukel, went across the crease on his backhand and lifted it into the net to make it 2-1.

Tulsa scored the next two in the second to take its first lead of the contest. At 2:49, Ryan Tesink fired a one-timer past Skinner on the power play to tie the game at two. During a Thunder man advantage at 8:19, Jared Thomas stripped the puck from a Thunder defenseman, skated in all alone and scored to make it 3-2. Stevenson tied it at 9:35 with a power play goal and his seventh of the season. Iacobellis fired a shot at the side of the net that landed in the crease and Stevenson battled through a check and poked it in to tie the contest at three.

Late the third, Tulsa won a board battle in the corner. Scott Henegar found Dylan Bredo in the slot for the one-timer to make it 4-3. Skinner was pulled twice down the stretch, but Tyler Soy tacked on an empty-netter with 10 seconds left to close the contest.

Wichita extended its streak of scoring on the power play to six-straight games and nine in the last eight contests. Labrie has goals in back-to-back games and three points this weekend. Iacobellis has five goals and nine assists during his 11-game point-streak and helpers in four-straight. Brown added two assists, giving him three multi-point outings in the month of November.

Wichita went 2-for-5 on the power play. Tulsa was 1-for-4 on the man advantage.

The Thunder returns home on Tuesday night to host the Kansas City Mavericks at 7:05 p.m.
