Wichita, KS (Nov. 19th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, continues their six-game homestand this week with a pair of weekend games. The Thunder will help raise awareness for charity both nights, supporting the Movember Foundation on Friday night and Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday.

Friday night is Movember Night, presented by Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers and Get a Move On. Fans can purchase a special ticket package that includes two tickets for just $20 with $5 of that going back to the Movember Foundation. There will also be a Best Moustache Competition during first intermission with a $250 gift package from Lowe's given by Get a Move On and a gift package from Irvin Jacks Men's Barber Spa. Thunder players have been growing mustaches to help raise awareness for Men's Health. To donate to the cause, click here.

Saturday night is Teddy Bear Toss Night, presented by Bank of the West, Convergys and Hajoca. Fans can purchase a special family four pack, which includes four goal zone tickets, eight teddy bears for just $40. When the Thunder score their first goal, fans can throw out their teddy bears on the ice. All the donated stuffed animals will be distributed around the city to local charities, hospitals, and children in the area to help put a smile on their faces.

Bank of the West and the Thunder have also teamed up with the Kansas Children's Service League to provide donated stuffed animals from the night. This will be the second season in a row that the KCSL has participated in Teddy Bear Toss Night.

Wichita hosts the Allen Americans for the first time this season on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. and will close out the weekend on Saturday against Missouri at 7:05 p.m.

About the ECHL

The ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in four states and has grown into a coast-to-coast league with 28 teams in 20 states and one Canadian province for its 27th season in 2014-15. There have been 541 players who have started their career in the ECHL have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, including 29 who made their NHL debuts in the 2013-14 season.
