Teddy Bear Toss Headlines Busy Home Weekend

Wichita, KS (Dec. 7th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, are preparing for a busy weekend with the Allen Americans and Missouri Mavericks coming to town. The Thunder hosts the Allen Americans for a pair of games on Friday, December 9th and Saturday, December 10th, both starting at 7:05 p.m. Wichita will finish its three-in-three against the Missouri Mavericks at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, December 11th.

The team's annual Teddy Bear Toss, presented by Bank of the West, Hajoca, Case and Associates, and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, takes place this Friday night. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used stuffed animal with them to the game and can toss them on the ice when the Thunder scores their first goal.

All donations will be taken to local charities and hospitals to help those who are less fortunate for the holidays. A few of the places the players will be visiting include Heartspring, Rainbows, Wesley Children's Hospital, Via Christi Pediatrics, TFI Family Services and Kansas Children's Service League.

Saturday night is the second-ever Rolling Thunder 5K and Envision Night. The Thunder 5K, presented by Dick's Sporting Goods and NovaCare Rehabilitation, is a unique event that will combine walking, running and stair climbing inside INTRUST Bank Arena. The cost of the race is $35 and it includes a ticket to the Thunder game that night. To enroll, fans can click here or call the Thunder office and ask for Zac Necci. Season ticket holders can call the office and get a discount.

Saturday night is also Envision Night. Go to the Select-A-Seat website, click on the game link and enter coupon code ENVISION. 50% of the proceeds using this code will go back to Envision. Envision has been a great partner of the Thunder and helps bring awareness to the different programs they offer for the visually impaired.

Client Appreciation Night is this Sunday. Head over to any Wichita-area Arby's, Freddy's or Wendy's locations and pick up your free upper level ticket voucher, while supplies last. Fans can upgrade to the lower level for a small cost.
