Princeton, NJ (Dec. 4th) - Wichita Thunder goaltender Shane Starrett is the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for November.
The 23-year-old went 4-1-2 with a 1.68 goals-against average and a save percentage of .924 in seven appearances during the month.
A native of Bellingham, Mass., Starrett allowed two goals or less in four of his seven outings while making at least 24 saves six times, including a season-high 41 stops in a 6-2 win at Kansas City on Nov. 10.
Under a National Hockey League contract with the Edmonton Oilers, Starrett is 7-1-2 in 10 appearances with the Thunder this season. He is tied for third in the ECHL with a .930 save percentage and ranks fifth with a 2.27 goals-against average.
Prior to turning pro, Starrett saw action in 70 games over two seasons at the Air Force Academy posting an overall record of 42-15-9 with nine shutouts, a 1.96 goals-against average and a save percentage of .924.
The Thunder will finish their four-game homestand on Wednesday night against Kansas City at 7:05 p.m.
