Playoff Implications Big in Weekend Set vs. Tulsa

Tulsa, OK (Mar. 10th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, starts an eight-game road trip tonight in Oklahoma against the Tulsa Oilers.

Tonight is the sixth meeting between the two teams in the StoneWolf Casino Cup Series. The Thunder knocked off Quad City on Wednesday night by the final of 4-1 while Tulsa closed its road trip with a 3-1 win in Rapid City.

The Thunder sits in third place in the Mountain Division, four points ahead of Allen, five points ahead of Tulsa and six points ahead of Utah. Wichita is 2-1 this season against the Oilers at the BOK Center. The Thunder won the last meeting against the Oilers on February 2nd at INTRUST Bank Arena by the final of 4-1.

Charlie Sampair leads the Oilers with six points (4g, 2a) against the Thunder. Adam Pleskach has four points (1g, 3a). Kevin Dufour has seven points (3g, 4a) while Mark MacMillan has six points (3g, 3a) against Tulsa.

Wichita will remain in Tulsa tomorrow afternoon to close the weekend against the Oilers at 4:05 p.m.
