Platzer Recalled to Condors

Wichita, KS (Nov. 7th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today that forward Kyle Platzer has been reassigned by Edmonton to Bakersfield.

Platzer, the reigning ECHL Player of the Month, is having a terrific start to the season. The Waterloo, Ontario native is tied for second in the league in scoring with 14 points (5g, 9a), has points in all nine games so far this year and five assists in his last four games.

A former fourth round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft (#96), the 5-foot-11, 183-pound forward played 51 games last season for Bakersfield, registering eight points (1g, 7a).

In a separate transaction, defenseman Vytal Cote has been released.

The Thunder resumes play next week with a pair of games in Independence, Missouri against the Kansas City Mavericks beginning on Friday.
