Oilers Prospect Wells Signed to ATO

Wichita, KS (April 2nd) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today that goaltender Dylan Wells has been signed to an Amateur Tryout agreement (ATO).

Wells, 20, recently finished a three-year junior career with the Ontario Hockey League's Peterborough Petes. A native of St. Catharines, Ontario, the 6-foot-2, 182-pound netminder was selected in the fifth round (#123) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Last season, he went 33-15-2 with a goals-against average of 3.07 ans a .916 save percentage.

The young netminding-prospect signed an ATO with the Bakersfield Condors after his season in junior hockey finished. He won the OHL Gold Cup in 2013-14. Wells appeared in the CHL Top Prospects Game in 2015-16 and won a gold medal for Team Canada U-18 in the Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

The Thunder plays their final home game of the regular season on Tuesday night against Allen at 7:05 p.m.
