Mallards Knock Off Thunder, 4-1

Wichita, KS (March 26th) - Olivier Archambault scored twice and Brody Hoffman stopped 44 shots to help Quad City (33-26-4-2) fly past Wichita (16-38-6-6) on Saturday night at INTRUST Bank Arena. Michael Neal scored the lone Wichita goal while Dean Chelios and Dalton Reum had assists.

Just seven minutes into the game, Matt Carey gave the visitors a 1-0 lead with his 22nd of the season. The game got testy at the 11 minute mark when Zach Pochiro and Paxton Leroux got into a scrum and Pochiro was assessed a match penalty for attempting to injure.

Archambault scored his first of two at 5:33 of the second to increase the lead to 2-0.

In the third, the Mallards lit the lamp two more times. Mike Monfredo scored at 8:38 to make it 3-0. With less than five minutes left, Archambault found an empty-net to make it 4-0. Neal tallied his eighth of the season at 16:37 that took away the shutout bid for Brody Hoffman.

Wichita fired 23 shots in the third period while holding the Mallards to just four. Neal has goals in back-to-back games. David Shantz takes the loss, stopping 20 of 23 shots. Hoffman was named the number one star, stopping 44 of 45 shots he faced.

Wichita went 0-for-4 on the power play. Quad City went 1-for-3 on the man advantage.
