Wichita is 0-7-2-0 vs. Allen

HEAD TO HEAD - This is the 10th meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Americans. All-time, Wichita is 18-31-6 against Allen and 9-17-1 on the road in the series.

TODAY - Wichita begins a seven-game road trip tonight in the Dallas area against the Allen Americans. Four of the seven games during the road swing will take place at the Allen Event Center. The Americans hung on for a 1-0 win last night against the Thunder, with the only goal coming from Vincent Arseneau. Allen ended a four-game winless streak on the road with the victory and concluded a seven-game road trip themselves. The Americans are led by Chad Costello, who has 16 points (5g, 11a) against the Thunder. Chris Crane, Gary Steffes and Greger Hanson each have nine points in the season series. Christian Isackson leads Wichita with six points (2g, 4a) against Allen.

SHOOTING GALLERY - Despite the score last night, Wichita and Allen played an exciting contest that saw the two teams unload 77 shots on the two goaltenders. Joel Rumpel claimed his second shutout of the season, stopping all 48 shots while Sean Bonar was just as good at the other end. 48 shots were a season-high for Wichita and also saw 21 in the second period, also a single period high this year. The Thunder has 40 shots in back-to-back games for the first time this season.

CLOSE CALL - Allen leads the season-series, winning all nine games so far. Each contest has been competitive with five of the last seven meetings between the Thunder and the Americans being decided by a goal and the last trip for Wichita down to the AEC was a one-goal game late before an empty-netter sealed the outcome. Wichita is 8-9-6-5 in one-goal games this year.

60 MINUTES - Wichita's streak of finishing past regulation came to an end last night, which was stopped at four-straight games. The Thunder are 2-6 in games decided in the overtime session and 3-5 in games decided in the shootout.

TEXAS BOUND - Last night was the final meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Americans at INTRUST Bank Arena. The two teams will play the final four games of the season-series at the Allen Event Center, starting with tonight's game. Wichita finished 0-4-2-0 against Allen this season in the confines of the Bank.
