Doornbosch Loaned to Condors; Asselin Added to Roster

Wichita, KS (Oct. 19th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today that defenseman Jamie Doornbosch has been loaned to the Condors. Also, forward Guillaume Asselin has been added to the active roster.

Doornbosch, 27, was loaned twice last season to the Binghamton Senators and appeared in eight games. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native led all Thunder blueliners in scoring last season with 30 points (10g, 20a) in 44 games. He was tied for second on the team in assists and third in points last year. The second-year defenseman spent five seasons with Saint Mary's University (CIS) before turning pro. He collected 84 points (17g, 67a) in 133 career games with the Huskies and was selected to the Second All-Star Team during the 2013-14 season.

Asselin, 25, will make his Thunder debut this weekend. He comes to Wichita after spending the last three and a half seasons at the University of Quebec-Trois-Rivieres (USport). A native of Quebec, the 5-foot-11, 194-pound forward was named the 2015-16 CIS Player of the Year after recording 27 goals and 47 points in just 28 games. He was also named to the CIS All-Canadian First Team that same season. In 2016-17, he helped his school claim the Universiade Bronze Medal. Overall, Asselin tallied 125 points (58g, 67a) in 80 games.
