Condors Recall O'Brien; Assign Butcher to Wichita

Wichita, KS (Nov. 16th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today that forward Zach O'Brien has been recalled to the Condors. In addition, forward Chad Butcher has been assigned by the Condors to Wichita.

Butcher, 21, signed with the Condors this past May. He had a prolific junior career with the Western Hockey League's Medicine Hat Tigers, leading them in scoring in each of the past two seasons. His numbers increased each season, going from 25 points in 2013-14 to 103 points (27g, 76a) in 2016-17. Overall, he piled up 259 points (82g, 177a) in 301 career WHL games.

He attended training camp with the Oilers in 2016 as a free agent invite and then was a standout at the Young Stars Tournament. The Kamloops, British Columbia native recorded seven points, which was tops among all players in the tournament.

The Thunder opens a two-game set on Saturday night against Allen starting at 7:05 p.m.
