Wichita, KS (August 28th) - The Central Hockey League announced today the playoff format for the 2104-15 season. This comes off the heels of the announcement yesterday of the regular season schedule for each of the seven teams that comprise the Berry Conference this season in the league. The post-season and quest for the Ray Miron Presidents' Cup will consist of the top six teams making the playoffs. The top two teams, based on total points, will earn byes in the Opening Round. The third-seeded team will play the six-seeded team and the fourth seed will play the fifth seed to determine who will move onto the Conference Semi-finals. Teams will be re-seeded in round two, with the regular season points champion playing the remaining team with the lowest point total from the regular season. The Opening Round and Conference Semi-finals will be best-of-five series while the Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Finals will be a best-of-seven. Home-ice advantage in the post-season will be determined by point totals with the higher total earning the advantage. Training camps will open for each team on Monday, October 13th. The Thunder and the Tulsa Oilers will play an exhibition game on Saturday, October 18th starting at 4 p.m. at the Wichita Ice Center. Tickets for the game will cost $12 and will be on sale soon. Wichita will open the regular season at home on Saturday, October 25th against the Allen Americans at 7:05 p.m. 2014-15 season tickets are on sale now!
