Arseneau Brings Kelly Cup Pedigree to Wichita

Wichita, KS (August 11th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced this afternoon the signing of forward Vincent Arseneau to the roster for the 2016-17 season.

"Vincent is a winner and that's what made him attractive this offseason," said Head Coach Malcolm Cameron. "He's been a big part of the success in Allen the past two seasons and we expect that winning pedigree in Wichita this year. He can score, has great size and will stick up for his teammates."

Arseneau, 24, brings a championship experience with him to the Air Capital after winning back-to-back Kelly Cup titles with the Allen Americans. A native of Iles-de-la-Madeleine, PQ, the 6-foot-2, 216-pound forward tallied 26 points (15g, 11a) in 46 playoff games over the last two seasons. He signed a two way, AHL/ECHL deal last season with the San Jose Barracuda. In 40 games for Allen, Arseneau finished with 27 points (14g, 13a) and 68 penalty minutes during the regular season. His best year as a pro came during the 2013-14 season when he split time with the CHL's Denver Cutthroats and 13 games with the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters. In 60 combined games, he recorded 37 points (24g, 13a), 180 penalty minutes and was named to the CHL All-Rookie Team.

"I had a great time in Allen, but I'm really excited to join Wichita," commented Arseneau. "It's a new challenge for me and I'm ready for it. I'm really happy to have a chance to play with my good friend, Alexis Loiseau. We are both excited as we grew up together. I can't wait to meet Malcolm. I've heard good things about him. He's a winner and I can't wait to get started."

Prior to turning pro, Arseneau played five seasons in the QMJHL with Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Shawinigan Cataractes. He compiled 108 points (52g, 56a) and 632 penalty minutes in 294 career games during his junior career. He was the QMJHL's most penalized player in 2010-11 (165 PIM) and claimed the Memorial Cup in 2011-12 with Shawinigan.

Arseneau becomes the ninth player added to the preseason roster. He joins Louick Marcotte, Mitch Holmberg, Ian Lowe, Alexis Loiseau, Gerrad Grant, Landon Oslanski, Dalton Reum and Drew Owsley as players who have been announced.
