Thunder Announces Preseason Contest vs. Missouri

Wichita, KS (August 15th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced this afternoon that the team will host the Missouri Mavericks in an exhibition game at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday October 8th at the Wichita Ice Center. This will be the third time the Thunder and the Mavericks will face each other in exhibition play. The two teams played back-to-back games before the start of the 2009-10 season. Wichita won both meetings, claiming a 3-0 victory on October 9th and followed that up with a 3-2 shootout win on October 10th.

Both teams have seen changes during the offseason. The Thunder will be led by Malcolm Cameron, who enters his first season in the Air Capital, while Missouri hired John-Scott Dickson earlier this summer.

Tickets for the game will be just $10 and will go on sale at a later date. Price of admission will also allow fans to watch the Wichita Junior Thunder take on the Tulsa Junior Oilers, which starts at 4 p.m.

The Thunder kicks off their 25th Anniversary season on Saturday, October 15th against the Tulsa Oilers. Season tickets are on sale now. Put down your $50 deposit per seat and pay it off all summer long. Contact a Thunder representative at the office today.
